Kudos to Kaye!

Smithfield, NC – What began as a “little project” for Kaye Beasley has blossomed into a mass production assembly line. As site manager for Austin Manor, Four Oaks Village and Hillmont Village, Kaye wanted to make a couple of face masks to wear to work during the COVID-19 pandemic. She posted them on Facebook and mentioned she would be happy to make some for friends and family that needed one. She has now provided over 700 face masks for her community! She has made them for the Johnston County DMV office, County Planning and Inspections office, County Health Department and staff at Johnston Health hospital, her town’s local Day Care of 65 staff members, local town restaurant workers, a local church senior group of 35, a construction crew of 50 men, a medical packing company of 45 staff, and many folks she calls her friends.  She has sent masks to NY, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and a friend mailed some to her family in China.

“My goal,” says Kaye, “is to protect as many friends and family as I can. I have requests each day for masks.  I feel good at knowing I can contribute something in these times when it’s needed.  Whoever would have thought we would be here today with me making face masks to help protect my friends!!”
