Fa-La-La-Llama Holiday Party

Blue Ridge, GA – The great thing about living in a rural town in the south is the abundance of hidden treasures that one is able to find. The Supportive Services program has challenged me to reach out and try to find opportunities to enhance the communities of the sites I manage. During my searches, I was fortunate to discover a retired school teacher who owned a local llama farm. After telling her about the properties and the desire I had to bring something unique to the communities, she was more than happy to help.

Cathie Kindler, with Moose Hill Llama Farms, loaded up one of her famous llamas that has been featured in shows around the country and brought her and her new baby sister to Mountain Lane Apartments on December 18. Their presence kicked off some major thrills for the tenants who participated in our first annual Holiday Block Party.

Residence of Brooks Summit, Brookstone and Mountain Lane Apartments gathered together for this community event. We provided food, music, played several competitive games with door prizes but there was no doubt that the llamas stole the show. The preparation that went into bringing this event together took a group of people to make it a success, but the smiles on everyone’s face made the effort well worth it!
